Should my first class be a private lesson?

We do not require you to start with a private session due to the fact that classes are designed to work in a group setting. Our classes can accommodate all fitness levels and our certified trainers are excellent at adjusting exercises to meet your physical fitness needs.

If you have chronic back pain, painful joints, or a severe medical condition, it is recommended to take a private session first so that your certified instructor can assess your fitness level. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know and we will take care of you.

Please keep in mind that the classes are intense and you are on a moving machine without periods of rest and recovery for the full 60-minutes.  If you do not feel comfortable walking into a group class setting like this then we suggest starting with our Foundations Workshop or a private lesson.

WHAT IS THE FOUNDATIONS WORKSHOP?

Our Foundations Workshop is the perfect way to the learn the basics and prep yourself for our traditional group class! The instructor will introduce you to the MegaFormer and talk you through proper form and placement of each exercise.

This class is not required but is recommended to gain a better understanding of form and technique.

Please note that this class is different from our traditional group classes in that the pace is slower and more time is focused on talking through the movements.  We want you to walk out feeling confident and strong so that you can take on our traditional all levels class!

IS THIS PILATES?

Although at first glance there are similarities, the workout method is very different. The main difference is the MegaFormer™ and class structure provide an intensity and cardiovascular elements that pilates cannot. With Bodyburn you get the intensity of weight training plus the therapeutic benefits of pilates all in one 55-minute class.

How often should I take class?

The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue at which point you need to rest. Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more, or less, time to recover. We recommend 3-4 times a week to allow your body to properly recover and repair. Listen to your body, it’s up to you!

Can I workout at Bodyburn if I am pregnant?

For clients who are pregnant and new to the workout, we do not advise starting our classes. However, clients who have been regularly attending classes may continue working out with us as long as you have received approval from your doctor. Please contact us if you have any questions.

How do I schedule a class?

It’s easy! We have a user-friendly and extremely secure software system to assist you in reserving a class. Click BOOK CLASSES, create a username and password, and use it to schedule, purchase and track your visit history. If you forget your password or need more information, please send us an email.

Will my spot be given away if I'm late?

Yes. Please try to arrive a few minutes early. If you do not arrive within 5 minutes of the scheduled class time, your space may be given to someone who is waiting.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE TO CLASS?

To ensure your safety, we cannot allow late access, five (5) minutes past the start of class.

Where will I put my personal belongings?

We have a secure locker system so that you can store and lock up all of your personal belongings.

What should I bring (and not bring) to class?

  • Hand towels are provided for you.

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in, similar to what you would wear to the gym.

  • We recommend wearing socks with treads on the bottom. These are available for purchase at the studio.

  • Although we have a water machine, you may want to bring your own canister or water bottle.

  • Jewelry is not a good idea. It can get caught on the machine.

  • No cell phones during class. Please be respectful of the instructor and other class members.
